Driving to Placencia from Belize City:
Start out going west from Belize City on the Western
Highway toward Belmopan. Out of Belmopan, go
south/southeast on the beautiful Hummingbird Highway
to Dangriga – snaking through the mountains and some
of Belize’s most gorgeous countryside scenery.
Once you reach the other side of the mountains at
approximately 48 miles, you will come to the Southern
Highway junction. Turn right onto the Southern Highway
and follow it south to Placencia/Punta Gorda for about 22
miles until you reach the turn off for Riversdale/Placencia.
Take a left onto the Riversdale/Placencia road(non-paved)
and continue on for another 9 miles to Riversdale, turn
right and continue on for about 4 miles to The Placencia
Resort. When you see our long white wall, you'll know
you’ve reached your destination.
Although drive time is approximately 3 hours, there are so
many places to stop and see you may want to schedule a
little more time for sight-seeing along the way..
